This file contains Delta-EE's current estimates of sales of electric loads products, i.e. Solar PV, Battery storage, Electric heating & Cooling, EV chargepoint, Heat pumps. Also includes Delta-EE's estimation of the European market for HEM and Appliance Optimisation. The provided numbers are based on a mixture of hard data and Delta-EE estimates. The estimates are based primarily on conversations with industry players and internal analysis. The projections for the future are what Delta-EE thinks is most likely to happen and aims to show the central direction the markets are taking. As there are many uncertainties affecting the future of the market, please use these projections as a 'reference scenario' rather than a firm prediction.

Delta-EE conducts an annual EV customer survey to understand behaviours and attitudes towards EV charging. The 2022 survey included participants from eight markets: Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, UK and, for the first time, Poland.

This Connected Home Service country report on Germany looks at how the connected home energy market has developed up until 2019 and in early 2020, and covers: the current size and forecasted size of the market; the sales channels for connected heating controls currently and the future trends; the key players in the market and the level of their strategic commitment; as well as the type of customer propositions that are gaining traction in the market.

In recent years, there have already been countless discussions and a handful of initial policy decisions about where the installation of new fossil fuel heating appliances in existing buildings will be restricted across Europe. In recent months, these conversations have become even more of a priority due to the ongoing energy price crisis and heightened policy maker ambitions (at the EU and national/regional levels) to reduce the use of fossil fuels from Russia. But, when taking a closer look at the regulation it becomes clear that there are very varying levels of ambitions: from already implemented bans to unlegislated statements about phasing out fossil fuel for heating, each country has their own approach.​

This brief document summarises the key examples across Europe where the installation of fossil fuel heating in retrofit is currently – or very soon to be – limited. It will be updated over time as more and more territories update their legislation for the same purpose. 

The Netherlands is one of the countries in Europe with the heaviest reliance on natural gas for domestic heating. But they also have high ambitions to reduce and phase out the use of natural gas in this sector.

This report provides an overview of the current state of the heating market in the Netherlands and explores how the market will develop, with a focus on high efficiency gas heating appliances. The current market conditions are very favourable for hybrid heat pumps in particular and by identifying key heating market trends and analysing market drivers and barriers we provide a forecast to 2030 for high efficiency gas appliances in the Netherlands – a market that is expected to grow significantly.

The 2020s will be a decade of significant change on the heating market in the Netherlands. Gas is already almost completely phased out in new build and the energy price crisis has resulted in a further weakened spark spread – making all-electric and hybrid heat pumps highly competitive against condensing gas boilers. There is a lot in favour of rapid heat pump growth, especially hybrid heat pumps in retrofit, and the question is the industry can keep up with the demand as supply chain constraints are expected to be an issue for a while longer. But towards the middle of the decade, we can expect a booming heat pump market across all segments.
