He has been providing market analysis and strategy Research & Consultancy services to private and public sector clients, both at Board level and for commercial, marketing and R&D divisions, for 20 years. These include a significant number of international energy companies & utilities, global manufacturing & technology companies, alongside multiple national and multi-lateral policymakers and influencers. He also represented several industry organisations in these areas at UK, European and global levels until the setting up of Delta-ee in Edinburgh. Up to 2006, he served as the founding Executive Director of the World Alliance for Decentralized Energy (WADE). Prior to that, Dave was a member of UK Power Networks’ senior management team holding the position of Senior Advisor and previously Head of Future Networks. He has served in the industry since 1966, beginning his career with East Midlands Electricity Board before moving to Eastern Electricity in 1973. Since then he has served with TXU Europe Distribution, 24 Seven Utility Services Ltd, EDF Energy and UK Power Networks. His career has involved roles in operational, planning, regulation, asset management and research & development. Dave serves on a number of industry forums and working groups including the Smart Grid Forum, the IET Energy Policy Panel, and the Energy Systems Catapult Interim Advisory Group. Dave holds an Honours Degree in Electrical Power Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. Nigel Timperley - Associate For 7 years until 2012, Nigel was Programme Delivery Manager within E.ON's engineering business, building an Innovation team to commercialise distributed, smart and cleantech energy solutions for retail customers. He led a broad range of engineering & IS programmes and projects, including technologies & systems as varied as a Virtual Power Plant application solution, micro-CHP, anaerobic digestion, heat pumps, solar PV and smart energy clients for homes and businesses. The programmes followed an end-to-end development cycle including everything from strategy development, technology selection, development & trialling, consortium build & contract negotiation, logistics, supply chain and roll-out planning (including at times post-live support of real customers). Since leaving E.ON, Nigel has remained in the energy sector working on a wide range of consultancy and research projects. David Kane - Associate Dave joined Delta-ee in 2013 as an Associate. He has worked in the energy industry over 11 years, with diverse experience in Project & Design Engineering, Consultancy, Academic Research, and R&D within renewables, energy efficiency and Oil & Gas sectors. Until recently he worked with IE-CHP on the technical development of micro-CHP and thermal storage products, and now supports a number of R&D projects within the low carbon industry. Dave is a Chartered Engineer, and holds a PhD in Micro-CHP and Energy Storage, and a BSc (Hons) in Engineering Physics from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. Kate Armitage - Associate Kate has been working on the field of Electric Vehicles and Energy Integration since 2010. With 16 years' experience in the energy industry, she headed up the Electric Vehicles Team at EDF Energy for 4 years. In this role, Kate was involved in a range of ground-breaking projects including the delivery of home recharging infrastructure for TSB trials with Toyota and Mercedes, and support for the development of recharging infrastructure for the London 2012 Olympics BMW EV Fleet. She also was behind the launch of EcoRecharge the first UK retail domestic home charging proposition. More recently, Kate was the Projects and Strategy Director for Route Monkey, an SME that specialises in the optimisation of the EVs and the challenge of fleet electrification. Her role involved the scoping and delivery of multiple innovative Smart City, Mobility and Electric Vehicles Projects. Kate is a Chartered Institute of Marketing professional with over 25 years experience, in partnerships and new proposition development. Mark Crosier - Associate Mark is an active and well travelled strategy consultant to an eclectic mix of very large US and European multinationals from silicon, through software to industrial OEMs – operating predominantly in a V & C suite level advisory, facilitatory and educatory capacity. He is able to contribute to full board of discussions involving review of corporate strategy, technology selection / appraisal and development, sources of capital (particularly start-up), global strategic alliances, international markets and review of executive team performance.He is also a technology innovator and thought leader in the management and control of electricity demand though pervasive Internet devices. He is a recognised and well-connected leader in the European Clean Tech Sector and UK knowledge economy with extensive European and US experience. Yasushi Santo - Associate (ex-Osaka Gas) Yasushi (Yaz) worked for 40 years for Osaka Gas, Japan’s second largest gas company. His last position was as General Manager of their Research Institute for Culture, Energy and Life. Yaz has also served as General Manager of their International Business Department and their London Office. Based in Nara, Japan, Yaz works as a part-time associate with Delta-ee, and has excellent contacts in and relationships with Japanese gas and electric companies, as well as the wider energy industry. He was a Visiting Professor at Kwansei Gakuin University until 2015, and has translated several energy publications into Japanese, including “Small is Profitable” and "Reinventing Fire" authored by Dr Amory B.
