About
Delta Energy and Environment
Established in January 2004, Delta is based in the UK and Belgium. Our growing
reputation is built around providing top quality, in-depth, objective research
and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. A significant part of our
activity is based on repeated business.
We have a leading understanding of how distributed energy markets – from
micro-generation to industrial-scale power generation. Clients
include energy companies, equipment manufacturers and developers, governments,
project developers, finance institutions and others. Our extensive international
knowledge and network help us serve clients around the world.
Delta’s three Directors – Michael Brown, Simon
Minett and Jon Slowe - are internationally recognised distributed
energy experts, cumulatively with nearly 40 years of industry experience. The
Director’s work regularly brings them in to contact with senior staff in
the energy and distributed energy sector. Between them, Delta’s Directors
have a leading understanding of how distributed energy markets are developing.

Michael
Brown - Director
Michael is a specialist in the fields of
decentralised energy, cogeneration, emissions
trading and carbon risk, with over 14 years
experience in the various fields. Up to
2006, he served as Executive Director of
the World Alliance for Decentralized Energy
(WADE). He was the founding Executive Director
of COGEN Europe (1994 - 1998) and, before
this, the Assistant Director of the UK Combined
Heat and Power Association. |

Simon
Minett - Director
Simon is a specialist in the fields of cogeneration,
emissions trading, energy efficiency and
the integration of distributed generation
into electricity networks.
With 20 years experience in the energy sector,
Simon is highly experienced in national
and EU energy and environmental policy development.
He has served as the Managing Director of
COGEN Europe in Belgium from March 1998
to October 2006 (going part-time in May
2004 when setting up Delta), a board member
of WADE (and past Vice-Chairman) and a board
member of the European Business Council
for a Sustainable Energy Future. Prior to
COGEN Europe, Simon worked at ETSU for 8
years, where he was responsible for the
UK Government’s cogeneration programme.

Jon
Slowe - Director
Jon is a specialist in the fields of micro-CHP, emerging decentralised
energy (DE) technologies, DE markets, business models and applications.
He has seven years experience in the energy sector. Jon previously worked
for Platts as manager of its E Source Distributed Energy and Micro-CHP
research services, subscribed to by utilities and other organisations around
the world. Jon has published numerous reports on these topics and carried
out a variety of consulting engagements. Before that, Jon worked for the
UK's Energy Saving Trust, managing their programmes to support the take
up of cogeneration and the development of energy services offerings. |

Sytze
Dijkstra - Consultant
Before joining Delta, Sytze was Research
Director at the World Alliance for Decentralised
Energy (WADE) where his particular focus
was on modelling the economic impacts of
decentralised energy (DE) development. While
at WADE, Sytze also took responsibility
for WADE's work in relation to the Clean
Development Mechanism (CDM), and contributed
to WADE's other research on worldwide DE
market and policy development. |

Charlie
Blair - Consultant
Charlie Blair has previously worked with
the Carbon Trust, Solar Century and IPA
Energy. He has worked on a range of
issues relating to decentralised energy
and low carbon technologies, including emissions
trading, climate change policy and biomass
energy systems for heat, electricity and
transport. He has an MSc in
Environmental Technology (Energy Policy)
from Imperial College, London and a First
Class Honours Degree from Durham University. |

Cian
McLeavey-Reville - Consultant
Cian joined Delta in September
2007 directly after completing an MSc
in Sustainable Energy Systems at the University
of Edinburgh. His thesis focused on analysing
the benefits of ducting tidal energy converters
and was awarded a distinction. Cian also
has a First Class Honours Degree in Process
and Chemical Engineering from University
College Cork in Ireland (September 2006).

Morgado - Consultant
David is an Environmental Engineer and joined
Delta in November 2007 after successfully
completing an MSc in Environmental Sustainability
at the University of Edinburgh. Before joining
Delta, David worked in a two month project
on energy efficiency and carbon footprint
reduction for the Business Environment Partnership,
and as an Environmental Consultant in Portugal
in IPPC, EIA and Waste. |

Lindsay
Sugden - Consultant
Lindsay has a strong research and analysis
background, having joined Delta in December
2007 after completing a PhD from the University
of Edinburgh. Her thesis investigated the
effects of climate change on glaciers in
Iceland. Lindsay also has a First Class
honours degree in Geography from the University
of Edinburgh. Since joining Delta, Lindsay
has been involved in projects covering a
wide range of energy market issues. |
